I have a request if anyone can help. I am by no means great at Excel, but I have learn a bit. I can SUM using Index/ Match, but when I get to anything other than a general value in the cell, I get an error.

I have made the small list with generic terms for simplicity.

Very much appreciated.

Current formula
=SUM(INDEX($C$8:$C$23,MATCH(A2,$A$9:$C$23,0)))

How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
Is this what you are looking for?

=SUMIF($A$9:$A$23, A2, $C$9:$C$23)
