Using Excel with QR Codes

Does anyone know if I can use a QR code with an Excel document?

I am wanting to use the =now() as a sign in/ sign out for my classroom and allow the students to scan the QR code with their phones. Does anyone have any ideas?

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
