Rethink what you are trying to do. Use a different tool to do it.
FOR EXAMPLE:
Epson printers have a "monitor" service that tells you everything the printer is doing live. It's a windows service that is designed for that one purpose. Not all printers can even report this information. You will need to research your model of printer to find it's capabilities.
