VBA to pull in value from external workbook to cell range

Hi, I am attempting to pull a cell value based on the value of a specific array of cells. The data set would have thse identifiers on both the vertical and horizontal axis of the data set. It would essentially be a index, match, match from a separate workbook but through vba. I tried writing index, match in VBA but it was very slow. I would rather not use links and the formulas as it would balloon the file. I am just looking for a basic framework that I can begin building my macro off of.
