VLookup Causing Workbook not to Find Named Ranges in Another Workbook

Hi. I have a series of named dynamic ranges in workbook A. Those ranges are referenced as named ranges in workbook b. Those ranges provide drop down values. It normally works fine. However, when I add a vlookup formula to workbook B to automatically return a value based on values in workbook A, I get an error message on startup (Workbook B) saying that the ranges on workbook A cannot be found. However, after I cycle through the warnings, everything works fine. Any idea what's going on here?

Opening workbook B, automatically opens workbook A. If workbook A is already opened, no errors occur when B opens.

Excel 2000 (i know I know, no choice here).

Thanks

AK
