Watermark a cell with VBA

I have been searching the web to try and find a solution to this but I can't seem to find what I am looking for.
What I need; One single cell (will have multiple but can recreate the code for different text) with a "watermark" containing instructions. I need this to disappear as soon as something is either typed in or selected from a data validation drop down. I also need this "watermark" to not transfer over to the other sheets in the workbook that are using these cells to populate those sheets.
I can't use a text box I need it to remain a cell. The users of this workbook know nothing about computers it is very frustrating so I want to make it easy for them not to F'up but also can't change things drastically cause they will all go crazy.

AFAIK, you cannot put a "Watermark" in the cell, but in data validation, select "Input Message" then enter your message, and whenever that cell is selected, a tool tip will appear containing your message.
