Greetings,

I have a workbook that is very very slow to open.

The details:

The workbook is very similar in structure to other workbooks that don't share this "slow to open" issue.
The workbook has quite a few formulas built into the sheet.

Not sure how to proceed...

I search around online a bit and decided to try help->detect and repair ->discard my customized settings and restore default settings.

It ended up reducing the code stored in various modules in my personal wkbk to a subset of what I had before the attempt...so much for that...(fortunately I back stuff up)

Now, when I try to open the personal workbook it says the workbook is already open...i can't help but think these problems are somehow related. is it time to retire excel 2003 or is there a way gain original functionality?

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
