I am seeking assistance writing a formula on 1 tab "Dashboard" that looks at another tab "Ed" and counts the total number of "Y" responses in column I and divides that by the total number of "Y" and "N" responses in column I and returns the percent.

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Does I have a heading? If so then:

=COUNTIF(Ed!I:I,"Y")/(COUNTA(Ed!I:I)-1)

If not then:

=COUNTIF(Ed!I:I,"Y")/COUNTA(Ed!I:I)

Perfect that worked! Would it be possible to include some logic that would say something along the lines of if there is an NA in the column don't count in the total?

Sure:

With Headers

=COUNTIF(Ed!I:I,"Y")/COUNTIFS(Ed!I:I,"<>"&"",Ed!I:I,"<>"&"#N/A")-1

Without

=COUNTIF(Ed!I:I,"Y")/COUNTIFS(Ed!I:I,"<>"&"",Ed!I:I,"<>"&"#N/A")
