I have been using the Time Slicer to filter a pivot table by a Date or Dates. However, I generally just want to filter by Today's Date. Thus, is there a way to accomplish the same thing as the Time Slicer, but rather than choosing the date in the Slicer, to simply filter by the date shown in a designated field outside of the table?
Thanks

Excel Facts

Create a chart in one keystroke
Select the data and press Alt+F1 to insert a default chart. You can change the default chart to any chart type
You could use instead of the slicer the column filter of the pivot table, date filters, and select Today

Thanks but the problem with that is that I don't use a date column in the Pivot Table (its only in the source table) and even if I did, the rows of the table are by vendor and just shows totals in the columns so adding a date column wouldn't result in anything meaningful. I am open to be corrected if there is a way since your solution sounds good if i could figure out how to make it work with my setup.
Thanks again
