Cannot Copy Formula

Sometimes when I try to copy a formula to a cell in a particular column, the formula does not get copied, just the result of executing the formula. However, when I copy the same formula to any other column, the formula is indeed copied.

Explanations and proposed solutions are welcomed.

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
I would make a copy of the whole workbook and name it something else as backup.

Then I would delete the defiled column, then insert a new column in its place and recreat any data that needs to go into that column.

I’m not sure why that column is corrupt, but it seems to be...

Thanks - I actually tried this and it worked, at least at first. Then the problem came back. I have discovered that I am not alone in this affliction, and some of the solutions that have worked are decidedly discouraging in the sense of being exceeding obscure (including having to close Skype of all things!).
