I am using Excel 2003 (xls file).
My problem is similar to many permutation/combination problems but I looked at the other threads and could not find a way to apply the solution to my problem (I am not very Excel-competant, sadly).
I have 13 objects that I am using labels (A,B,C, etc) for. I need a chart that lists all combinations (not permutations) of groups of 10.
So for a set of [A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J,K,M], I need:
[A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I]
[A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,J]
[A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,K]
[A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,M]
etc, etc.
Using =COMBIN(13,10), I get 286 combinations that I rather not type manually. Is there a way to make a chart of these combinations? The chart dimensions should be 13 columns. Since this chart would have blank spaces, an alternative chart could have 10 columns (one column for each object).
Also, is there a way to replace the finished chart with the actual object names? So if A stands for CF83, is there a way to replace all A values with CF83?
