count words with different background colors

Hi everyone. Please help trying to count names based on red or green. So need to search a colomn search the name 'joe' and count all coloured in red then same for green. Been driving me mad. Thanks in advance.?

Formulas can not see formatting like cell color. If the color is set by conditional formatting then you can use the same rule to count. If they are manually changed then you would need VBA to do this.
