hi All,

wondering if someone could help me out in figuring out the last part (I hope) to a formula.

I have the below formula which returns the correct information however I would like it to add a figure to the end of the text.

this formula =IF(W2="(Subcontractor)",K2& " (Subcontractor)") returns as Mr Higgins (subcontractor) whoever I need it to put a number at the end of the column (1-100) but I also need it to see additional (subcontractor) cells and therefore make to number add 1 each time.

if column "W" has 15 cells with (subcontractor) in them it needs to count on 1 each time.

hope that makes sense..

steve

Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
Hello,

From what I understand, this is what you search.

=IF(W2="(Subcontractor)",K2& " (Subcontractor)" & COUNTIF($W$2:W2,"=(Subcontractor)")
