I am trying to write a look up match formula.

I have account numbers in column b tab 3. I would like it to look up Tab 2 column b to find the same account number and then fill in the cell with the budget number in Tab 2 column F. I keep coming up with too many criteria.

Can someone help?

Thanks,
Jolene

Sounds like you need a VLOOKUP in tab2 column F...

=VLOOKUP(value in tab3.columnb, tab2.columnb, #rows, 0)

Try the VLOOKUP() function. It's best.

Excel 2010
ABC
1
2
3
41234515000

<colgroup><col style="width: 25pxpx"><col><col><col></colgroup><thead>
</thead><tbody>
</tbody>
Sheet3

Worksheet Formulas
CellFormula
C4=VLOOKUP(Sheet3!B4,Sheet2!$B$2:$F$4,5,0)

<thead>
</thead><tbody>
</tbody>

<tbody>
</tbody>

I think Roger meant # columns, not rows...

=VLOOKUP(value in tab3.columnb, tab2.columnb, #columns over from value in tab3.columnb, 0)
