Hi,
after I created a Pivot Chart from a Pivot table, I like to keep the format of the Pivot Chart but want to change to a different Pivot table, how do I do that? this is what I tried: PivotChartTools - Design - Select Data, in the Select Data Source dialog box, Chart data range is gray out such that I can enter a different table name. Please advice,

thx,

Were you ever able to get a solution to this? I've had a hard time sifting through answers on pivot tables as I merely want to avoid having to waste a lot of time reformatting another pivot chart to match the first. Sorry to post a question but haven't really found answers anywhere and this thread doesn't seem to have reached a resolution either (so why duplicate).

thanks everyone for your reply, but I still don't have a solution yet. I just realized that I had a typo on my original post, i've corrected it and added my Excel version below:

thanks again!

Excel Facts

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.

Here is my solution. Works for me most of the times. See if it can be any help.
1. Save a chart that you want to replicate as a chart template - PivotChart Tools -> Design -> 'Save As Template'.
2. Select 'PivotChart' in PivotTable Tools - > from Insert Chart window open 'Templates' folder -> select the template that you've just saved in step 1.
3. If you have headers that you need to update - take care of them by formula. All you'll need to do is to update a cell reference.
