Hi Everyone,

I would like to know if it's possible that is, on how to make a cell autofill information from a list on another worksheet. I have a worksheet called "PRODUCT LIST", they all have a SKU (alpha numerical code) depending on the supplier.. example... one supplier, the code all starts with WNVxxxxx0 and I have about 300 products from them, then other supplier for example, ECDRxxxxx0 and the list goes on with about 5000 products and over 15 suppliers.
So this product list is on my worksheet called "PRODUCT LIST", the SKU is all in column A,
In My Invoice Sheet, I have it so that if you know the SKU, it lookup the price and enter quantity etc...

I know I can make a drop down list, but that's a big list to go through... also way too many codes for the cashier here to remember. What I would like to know if it's possible... is if the person at the counter here wants to sell a product to a customer that walked in and wants to do an invoice, in my INVOICE SHEET, where needing the SKU, if that person can start typing the SKU, and it autofills and reduces the amount of options available by matching each characters and weeding out what doesn't match.

Ex: Total products in there is about 5000 of them... But supplier WNV has 300 products, so if I start typing WNV, it would not populate the other 4700 products because they don't start with that. and so on....

Hopefully I explained it properly.... Hopefully it's possible.

Excel Facts

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
You could make a dependent data validation list. So you would pick the supplier and then the SKU data validation drop down would only so the SKUs for that supplier.

for more info on dependent data validation see
