Question - Excel 2010 vs 2013 -- Copy/Pasting without cascading line items

Hello,

I recently upgraded from Excel 2010 to 2013 and am having an issue with pasting.
Basically, I have spreadsheet with multiple cascading (+) line items (see link below). the additional cascading line items breakdown data by date:

With 2010, I was able to select the rows I wanted to copy, and paste into a new-blank spreadsheet and display exactly just the line items. For example it would look something like this:

I was able to copy/paste just the line items and their text-Values into another spreadsheet.

However, now with 2013 when I do the same process, it copies everything including the previously "hidden" cascading line items. See below for 2013 example:

Any help on being able to copy in a similar fashion as the 2010 version would be great.

Also a heads up, I have gone through and tried the different paste options and still cannot get the correct result. I believe I'm looking for a "Paste Text" type, but do not see it. See below image for what I'm able to paste once I make the necessary copy selection:

Let me know if I can provide anything additional to help!

Thanks

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
