Hi,

can someone help me with the following :

let's say I have a variable and let's make it =4 for this example

I need to have a formula that will generate the following rows :

1
2
3
4
3
2
1
2
3
4
3
2
1
.... and so on...

Any ideas ?

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
In E2, then drag down.
$D$1=4
Code:
=1+MOD(ROWS($E$1:$E1)-1,(2*($D$1-1)))-IF(MOD(ROWS($E$1:$E1)-1,(2*($D$1-1)))>$D$1-1,2*MOD(ROWS($E$1:$E1)-1,($D$1-1)),0)
This formula works for any number in $D$1.
