Hello,

I am using VLOOKup to search for a table that has UPC codes and titles for the corresponding upc code. I have 25000 rows for the table, but I took it down to just 3 and searched only for one value that I know is within the 3, however I keep g

etting the n/a as a return value. See the two screen shots. Note: I have gotten this to work before so I do not know what I am doing wrong; I will eventually have thousands of rows to run this on in a table to search with about 50000 values in the columns. Please tell me if you see something wrong or know of a way (even a better different way) to go about it. Thanks.

Excel Facts

How to fill five years of quarters?
Type 1Q-2023 in a cell. Grab the fill handle and drag down or right. After 4Q-2023, Excel will jump to 1Q-2024. Dash can be any character.
.
Try :
Code:
=VLOOKUP(L44,$M$17508:$N$17510,1,False)

Changed the 2 to a 1

It seems the values in column L are text whilst the values in column M are numbers.
To check, see if this works
=VLOOKUP(L44+0,M:N,2,0)
If it works i think you should convert column L to Number using
Data > Text to Columns

M.

If column M is numeric and M:N is sorted on M in ascending order... you can have a much faster look up:

=IF(VLOOKUP(lookupvalue,M:M,1,1)=lookupvalue,VLOOKUP(lookupvalue,M:N,2,1),"NA")

The value you look up (lookupvalue) must be numeric too (see Marcelo's post).
