Calculating 'Negative' Time

Excel Facts

Can Excel fill bagel flavors?
You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
Chris Dyke, Good morning.

Your need is much simpler than it seems.
You don't need the tiresome and huge formulas you are using.

I checked your spreadsheet and found out why you are using this formula.
As you can see in your spreadsheet that I am returning, the two cells that have "value" are actually TEXT.
So the whole difficulty of adding up.

All cells to be added have to be TIME format.

The formula in cell R3 can be =SUM(B3:Q3)
That simple.

First step to using negative hours on your worksheet is to change the system dates to 1904 system.
From that point on your worksheet you will work with negative hours normally.

If the negative time is the result of a formula, everything will happen automatically.

But if you want to enter negative hours the method I use is as follows:

I type -> -"03:00" and the summation happens normally.

Please take a look at my sample to you.

I hope it helps solve your problem.
