Typing into a dropdown

What would I use to enable typing to auto populate into a drop down? The cell isn't locked so you can start to type in it and we want to be able to start typing the chart field number so we don't have to scroll through the whole list.

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
I do not believe you can do this with a Data Validation list.
I think you should try using a Activex Combobox.
You can do what you want I believe when using a Activex Combobox

I haven't been able to get any of the links to work yet. Some sites are restricted by the DoD...I work for the NYS National Guard...so am trying on my phone...lol.
