conditional format issue

Hi All
I am using Excel for Mac 15.4.1

I have a column with a lot of conditional formatting. If I type a 3 digit number in that column and hit enter, only 1 digit is entered because of lag. I have to pause between digits for it to enter properly. If I delete all the conditional formatting and enter a number, it keeps up with me.

I could understand a lag time after I enter a number but I don't understand the lag while typing in a cell.

Can anyone explain this or a fix?

Thank you!

If I'm not mistaken CF formulas are array formulas by default. That could perhaps explain part of the problem

Do you have any UDF's ?

Excel Facts

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
Brilliant!
Not sure why I didn't think of that!
Works much better. Now I'm going to go thru the rest of the workbook with your suggestion.

Thanks!

I just confirmed that! Good to know!
There are macros but no UDFs
